After taking the management diagnostic I found out that I was a D. I am Dominant, and I emphasize on shaping the environment by overcoming opposition to accomplish results (according to the diagnostic.)I do feel this test was extremely accurate on what kind of personality traits I posses, even though sometimes I don't like being a D. I feel I am way to irrational on making decisions and I WANT WHAT I WANT, AND I WANT IT NOW! lol This could be very bad at problems where I need to calculate risk and weigh pros and cons. Being that I am a finance major I would really like to be a C and I possibly could make some changes where I could incorporate quality and accuracy in my personality. I am also very sad to find out that I am not creative AT ALL! my I dot was all the way on the bottom. I think that's crucial because being creative in any industry is very important for survival because of constant change.
Seeing that this test is very accurate I feel like it would help to find out why people act the way they do. It should definitly be used more in companies who need a special group for a specific task or just for hiring into a certain industry. Also after the winter survival scenario ( that my group didn't win and also found to be extremely challenging ) I think a group full of C's would've got the right answer, being that the only way for survival would be to stay put. Being a D I quickly want action so I would've tried to make it to the town, but most likely froze to death doing it!

Hey,
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think a group of c's would be best because you need to really think and focus on what's best for all not just yourself. I think having d's in your stranded group would just create chaos. In regards to you not being "creative" ... it's just a test and may be an accurate one, but every single day you have to choose of choosing what you want to be like, so you can always be more creative if you want.
I think that being any one of the DISC's is great in itself. Now we all know what we need to work on and who we need to surround ourselves with in order to be successful. I was a C and a high D. I to was a bit worried about the creative side that I don't have. However, I wasn't surprised. The I's need people like the D's and C's and S's. Just like we need them. I initially thought it would have been a good idea to travel to town but after thinking about it I realized that I too would have froze to death. It was a tough assignment to have but definitely interesting. I also agree that companies should use it to assess teams and how each team could be successful with an equal balance of DISC's.
ReplyDeleteBeing a D is not a bad thing. It takes all types of personalities to make teams work so at least you know now where you fit in best and what you need to work on.
ReplyDeleteThis assignment was a tough one. Even though I was classified as an S, I still felt the need to have half the group go out and start searching figuring doing something was better than doing nothing at all. Thankfully for all of us, it was just a scenario and not for real.
