Blogging in this class has been an absolutely new venture for me. I've read countless blogs online for a number of years, but I've never created one to engage in communication with people, in this kind of manner. It is definitely unique to only the most creative professors, to make students engage in communication, which isn't just confined into the classroom.
I definitely benefited from communicating on this blog. I followed a number of different blogs, and got to know allot more about my peers in this class. Also, I created new friendships along the way.
The blog project should be kept as a component of this course. I will continue to write on my blog and hopefully get some really helpful insight in the future.

Writing on this blog also gave me a better understanding of topics we covered in the classroom. It forced me to go more in depth, and to think "out-side of the box" about boring topics, like "planning" or "vision." Usually, I would just read the chapter and get through lectures, without really thinking about these topics and applying it in this way.
Having control of 20% of our grade through this blog was great. The due dates however could have been more lenient. Sometimes I rushed through answering blogs just to get it done by the due date, not to loose points. I regret doing this because I actually really enjoy writing and responding on this blog. I still hope my insight toward this blog project will get me the full 20%.The blog project should be kept as a component of this course. It seems you really liked blogging. I think I will continue blogging but not at the same pace as I am doing it right now. I would probably write from now and then. You know, whenever is not as busy as it is right now with finals and summer around the corner.
ReplyDeleteI also made new friends, therefore I thought that by being required to blog, we established new friendships somehow. At the beginning, when the assignment was introduced we didn't enjoy it as much as we are doing it today.
Hope to see you around some time...
Dude, I didn't know you liked Bill Nye, he's my idol.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, this blog thing has been a great way for us to voice our opinions. It really feels great to be able to actively control 20% of your grade, let's make the best of it.
I agree with what you said about how the blog writing actually made you think outside the box after class. Because usually for other lecture classes, we tend to forget or put aside all learning materials once the class is over. But with this blog thing, we have to go back and review everything then put our opinions in it, it refreshes our memories sometimes. Hopefully, we all got this full 20% grade.
